I'm officially back from kem kaizen. ):
A bittersweet sensation.
The thought of going back to civilization, the modernised and complicated life with wonderful mechanism.
The thought of leaving behind nature, the wonder of the plants, the noise these insects make and the 'back to basic' life.
It is rather saddening.
Now I'm missing nature so much, the noise, the weird creepy crawlies and even the leeches.):
Day 1We bus-ed together with our class to kem kaizen. I guess we were all kinda grossed out by all the weird insects to the annoying flies. Therefore, we did not exactly eat lunch.
After lunch, we got to go around looking for antlions, pither plants and the mahang plant.
Dinner, I didn't eat that much too, since it still felt a tad little gross.
After dinner, we went for the 'blind man's trail' in the jungle. But before that we had some 'sing-a-long', rahrah in the jungle, just to wait for night to fall. Soon, it was dark-er, due to the moon, it was not that dark, but still quite dark. You kinda get what i mean.. anyways, we went in groups of five around the hill up and down in total darkness. It was rather fun(: we could enjoy the stars after we finished the trail.
After that, we showered at Olson's bunk because it was a little cleaner than the rest.
So that about rounds up day 1 and night 1.
Day 2Most people were woken up by the rooster which started cuckoo-ing at 0545 and everyone thought it was time to wake up already until someone shouted, "ONLY 5.45 AH!!" and everyone went, "CHEYY!" and flunked themselves back to sleep including me. Then, we woke up again at 0630. and like brushed teeth and all.
Assembled at the parade sq. and had devotions before breakfast. By this time, I guess we all got used to the environment.
Then, we started our waterfall trekking. Terrified and cautious for leeches totally slowe down our pace. A scream here, a shriek there. "LEEEEEEEEEEEEECHHHH!!!!!!" "OFF-SPRAY!!!!!" "PSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTT!!" got to the bottom of the water, cause it was not save to go to the top because it rained. ): but we had a water fight there, splashing our trainer, wani and our buddy trainer, rico and miss shaddick! GOT AT LEECH BITE! cool. trekked back, and we were starving.
Waved off flies, and tucked in for curry, rice and chicken.
After lunch, we had rafting. Banabits worked well together huh? We built a wonderful raft and won!
After rafting, we had backman's outdoor cooking. Learnt how to make some tent thing and cooked onion egg, sugar banana and donut! It was fun!
Night fell, group discussion took place followed by showering at Olson's bunk once again!
Slammed to sleep.
Day 3Was a great day! The highlighted day!
Woke up at about 0640. Devotions followed by breakfast then..
Water trekking! trekking in the mud, trekking in the river, trekking in the strems, trekking on the hill! Not much shouts of "LEEEEEEECHHHHHHHESSS!!" and "OFF-SPRAYYYY!!!". We all changed so much since day two! Reached the summit of a hill and the view was AWEESOMEE!! laughing and talking the way there, giving helping hands to get through obstacles. We all bonded so much more!
After that, we had outdoor cooking! Maggi mee, canned sardines, baked beans and sausages never tasted so great! We had so much fun cooking! It rained again though! but we prayed hard and sang the sunshine song! the sun came back and we could go to the fun activites!
First was no man's land where some of us have to face our fears and stuff. It was fun going through the obstacles and passing through the river! Although we could not finish two activities due to the time constrain ): After that was sherwood, it was cool cool cool! more obstacles more encouraging from bananabits!! "YOU CAN DO IT!!" and Beatrice's starfish walk and the three sylabols song and very amusing and funny crap! we bonded so much and our group did not complain and we had the best time of our lives going through these obstacles together as one!
GO BANANABITS!
We got to shower after the acitivites and prep. time for our performance for campfire! we went hyper making up our own song about camp and even higher when campfire started!
"I CAUGHT A LITTLE BABY BUMBLE BEE! I CAUGHT A LITTLE BABY BUMBLE! MUMMY! MUMMY! COME AND SEE! MUMMY! MUMMY! COME AND SEE! I CAUGHT A LITTLE BABY BUMBLE BEE! OUCH! IT STUNG ME!" first verse though, it is rather long and rahrah-ing and other group's performance! Another look at the wonderful starry night! All good things come to an end, and the campfire was closed. A great night to remember!
OHYES! we must not forget that BANANABITS won a prize for being qutie a good group! CHOCKY! CHOCKY BISCUITS!
Day 4We woke up later because we were tired and all. Devotions and breakfast! Speeches from the camp commander and the camp chief and camp ic! We cleaned the surroundings and packed up to leave! Sooner than we know it, camp was officially closed!
I AM SO SAD!! even when im typing this!
I'll miss WANI, the greatest trainer!! encouraging, enthu and a great load of fun!!
We had seafood lunch after that! good food!
After seafood lunch, 2O got together back on the bus and we were all high and hyper! playing concentration game and after every elimination we go..
"WELCOME TO LOSERLAND! LOSER! LOSER! WECOME TO LOSERLAND! RAISE THE LOSER FLAG! RAISE THE LOSER FLAG! RAISE THE LOSER FLAG! WELCOME TO LOSERLAND! RAISE THE LOSER FLAG!"
fun huh?
even though wani will not be seeing this but..
